We teach that by focusing on choosing and controlling our own actions we increase our circle of influence to ultimately affect the world we live in – this is the role of a true Black Belt.
At Paragon Martial Arts, our aim is to help you achieve your goals through karate by making each class you attend a positive, rewarding and motivating experience. We are a family school with a friendly atmosphere providing exceptional karate training to students of all ages and all backgrounds. We are more than just a karate school, we are a family. We integrate children of all abilities into class and believe that any person regardless of ability should be given the opportunity to participate. The word “Paragon” means “model or example of excellence”. We strive to ensure that our school, instructors and students live up to this name. A person who is a paragon in any field is the person who represents the best of that field. A Paragon Black Belt should embody the best of themselves, their family, their community and their karate school. Our highly trained instructors form a special connection with each student, leading by example and encouraging them to be all they can be. Every instructor goes through specialised training to ensure they interact with your children and with you in a positive manner, and participate in ongoing training to ensure the highest of standards are maintained. Our instructors use the Paragon method to build each and every students confidence, by doing this every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We regularly seek input from students and their families and we are constantly looking for ways to develop our curriculum. We aim to provide not only an outstanding karate curriculum, but challenge our students to excel in all aspects of their lives while providing them with the tools to be able to do so.
Paragon Martial Arts will change your child’s life by teaching them how to become successful, compassionate and overcome life’s challenges. We are passionate about helping each and every person that we come in contact with. We are more than just karate, Paragon is a way of life.

Sensei Cameron is the Head Instructor and Founder of Paragon Martial Arts.
He began training when he was six years old and trained in numerous styles. He is a former Australasian Grand Champion in kata with his famous trademark spinning kick and splits move! Sensei Cameron is well-known throughout Australia and the World for his exceptional teaching ability with Tiny Tumblers through to adults. Sensei Cameron studied Physiotherapy at University and graduated with Honours. He has had over 10 years experience working as a paediatric physiotherapist. He used his knowledge of human development and Accelerated Learning to create not only a highly effective martial art but also to teach in the most productive manner and assist students to identify their individual strengths and how best to develop them.
Sensei Cameron designed the class plans for each class, set the curriculum and developed new and exciting concepts such as new drills, life skills programs and is the designer of our one of a kind Velocity program. His programs have been presented and are known throughout Australia and the World. He is the creator of the acclaimed Paragon Superhero Program.
Recently, Sensei Cameron was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour, requiring 2 lots of neurosurgery, radiation and chemotherapy as well. Most people would shut off, however he used it as an opportunity to grow and learn, and to make a difference, one of the main lessons that Paragon Martial Arts aims to teach. You would think that cancer would make a person miserable, and question everything they believed in, but for Sensei, his beliefs were strengthened and he was more determined than ever to have a truly excellent curriculum and make the biggest possible impact in the lives of as many people as possible. He didn’t believe people should feel sorry for him. In Sensei’s words
I doesn’t matter that I have cancer, I am still happy and still living life fully. To me its kind of an exciting adventure…like fighting pirates”.
Sensei Cameron died April 2 2019. His legacy and his love to make a positive change in the world live on through Paragon. Sensei Sarah Kirchmair, a long time student of Sensei Cameron took on the role as Head Instructor and Creator of Superheroes.
